Want to quickly copy and apply formatting to one or more selections of text? Use the Format Painter.

Format Text Using the Format Painter

To use the Format Painter to copy and apply formatting to one text selection:

            1.       Select the text that contains the formatting you want to copy.

            2.       Turn on the Format Painter.

a. On the HOME tab, in the Clipboard group, select the Format Painter button.

b. On the Mini toolbar, select the Format Painter button.

            3.       Click and drag over the text you want to apply the formatting to.

Format Multiple Selections Using the Format Painter

To format multiple text selections using the Format painter:

            1.       Select the text that contains the formatting you want to copy.

            2.       Turn on the Format Painter.

a. On the HOME tab, in the Clipboard group, double-click the Format Painter button.

b. On the Mini toolbar, double-click the Format Painter button.

            3.       Click and drag over each text selection to apply the new formatting.

            4.       Deselect the Format Painter button to turn off the Format Painter.
