Q:-(1):- How can I disable Squid’s log files?

Answer:-

To disable access.log:

cache_access_log  /dev/null

To disable store.log:

cache_store_log  none

It is bad idea to disable the cache.log because this file contains many important status and debugging messages. However, if you really want to, you can: To disable access.log:

cache_log  /dev/null

Q:-(2):- My log files get very big !

Answer:-

You need to rotate your log files with a corn job. For example:

0 0 * * *  /usr/local/squid/bin/squid  -k  rotate

Q:-(3):- How do I see system level Squid statistics?

Answer:-

The Squid distribution includes a CGI utility called cachemgr.cgi which can be used to view squid statistics with a web browser. This document has a section devoted to cachemgr.cgi usage which you should consult for more information.
