When you log off from Windows 7, a Welcome Screen is displayed. The Welcome Screen is the default logon method in Windows 7 and also for Windows XP computers installed into a workgroup. The Welcome Screen lists the Administrator account and local logon account names; a user simply has to click the account name to initiate the logon process. If the Welcome Screen is active, in Windows XP, you can also choose to use Fast User Switching, which enables users to switch from one account to another without closing programs or logging off. This feature is useful in a home environment, in which several trusted users share a computer. This feature is not available in Windows 7. Also, unlike Windows XP, Windows 7 does not offer the classic logon screen in which the user has to enter his or her credentials.
